Overheard in Athens

The other day I was at Athens Blueprint Company dropping off some business cards that I was getting printed. It was a little after three and apparently a pretty busy time for such a small shop. There were several college students browsing around (most appeared to be some sort of art majors by the looks of the supplies they were buying).

While I was standing in line, two girls were in front of me waiting to check out. One of them notices a Georgia Football calendar sitting on the counter (exactly like this one).

She goes to grab it and begins to dissect the upcoming schedule like a professional analyst. Her first statement goes like this...and I quote,
"Oh, so we play Georgia Southern first. It starts at eight-thirty...wait, is it a night game? No, or is it a morning game? Would we play that early?"
At this point I can no longer help myself, so I lean forward and say,
"Actually, that's the date, not the time."
She looks at her friend (without making eye contact with me) and then proceeds to slap herself in the forehead...obviously more than a little embarrassed.

It's times like that I appreciate Athens so much more.
Go Dawgs.
We'll see you Saturday morning bright and early at 8:30 am for kickoff.
